CMS Liability Orders

Hi. First post 😊 has anyone had their cms case go as far as going to court for a liability order?

I've been told that my ex will be served a notice in 7 days and will take 26 weeks in total.

He was paying child maintenance until around 2 years ago and the debt has now reached around £4500. He has nothing to do with me or my child and as far as I know, has never willingly paid nor communicated with cms!

Would like to know what to expect. Tia

Yes the CMS secured a liability order against xh for approx £6k. Nothing happens, well not in my case. He jacked his job in shortly after and now relies on benefits (I'm not party to the details, obviously). I get £13.45 every two weeks taken directly from his benefits. The rules stipulate that benefits are not used to pay off debt.
Fingers crossed your x is in stable employment and can have the arrears taken directly from wages.

I requested a liability order to raised back in the summer. It went to court and was agreed 3 weeks ago. They said they will chase him for 3 weeks then it goes back to court to instruct bailiffs. I'm not holding my breath. He has moved again and won't give me the address and is a contractor. So no hmrc. And I have no contact number for him. Oh and he has changed his bank account. But I'm guessing it will catch up with him eventually. 🤷‍♀️
