To keep or close a overdraft?

Hi just wanting a little bit advise please! I've finally managed to pay my 2k natwest overdraft up which I drummed up while I was a student. Wondering what everyone else has done? Have you completely closed your overdraft/ kept it there for an emergency or reduced it to a smaller overdraft?

Any stories gratefully welcomed! X

I would keep a small one for emergencies.

I have a £250 one now. I used to have £1000 but went into it every month so when I got paid I'd only be +500 and by the end of the month be -1000 again 🙈
Now I have a small one I never go in it I just like it there for security xx

Thankyou I think I'll ask for a reduction to £500 to keep as an emergency! I haven't used it in years anyway I've just been paying interest on what I borrowed back in my student days so don't think I'll be too tempted to dip into it Smile

That's fantastic - well done you! Such a liberating feeling isn't it?

@Fishfingersandwichplease omg the best feeling ever!! I feel like a weight has been lifted and I can finally start contributing what I was paying on the overdraft to saving to move out 😁 feeling fantastic Xx
