Daughter home from Uni not signing on advice

Hi, I’ve just joined mumsnet for the first time as I need some advice if anyone can help please.
My daughter finished Uni in July and came home. She has aspergers and MH issues and wasn’t ready to find a job. I work full time but also claim UC as my wage is low and I have another daughter in full time education.
My daughter has not signed on and I have been supporting her financially. I did not declare to UC that she was here. Have I done the wrong thing? It’s not fraud because she hasn’t earned any money or claimed any benefits but if she now signs on, will they do a recalculation of my UC since she’s been here and make me pay some back?

Yes it's the wrong thing. She needs to claim and you need to declare her being there

If your DD is over 18, I presume she has to claim herself for UC. She can do this online www.gov.uk. I assume you would loose the single person council tax discount

If she claims herself, her National Insurance 'stamp' will be paid which contributes to her own state pension & other benefits

I don’t have the single occupiers discount for council tax anyway so that part is not an issue.
She’s actually living with her dad now so will sign on from there, but she will have to say she was living here for those few months on her claim form so should I declare it now before she signs on do you think?

There isn’t a deduction in all circumstances. If she was under 21 or in receipt of DLA etc there wouldn’t have been a decision although you should still have noticed them. www.disabilityrightsuk.org/universal-credit-non-dependant-deductions

Notified, not noticed.

She needs to claim. You also need to declare her as if she is over 21 it will affect your rent element if you get the rent element on your UC. She needs to make a Uc claim and if she is unfit for work then she needs to hand in sick notes.
