@SNISR thats fab, to be honest i found the test for the other one easier as you could just search the guidelines so maybe give it a go if you have a free minute :) x

Hmm. Got an email to do the for en en.... Just read through the guidelines but never done anything like this before... I understand 'some' of the examples in the guidelines

@MrsWombat thanks for that. Though i can only see the projects tab on appen and no other tabs. I haven't qualified for any projects yet I have applied for loads. No longer stuck on status information page but there's no project for me to do. Has Elk** finished?

I can't bring myself to do any Appen today either. My usual project is unavailable, there is another I could do but I just can't be bothered!

@TheLolaMontez ah bugger! I did send an email last week so maybe they are just doing them as tickets come in.

@Bemystarlord which one did you pass? I passed the audio one. I just did the test for the other one and failed. I can re sit it so will give it another go.

I’ve done them both now @SNISR ith the transcription one def use the cftrl f search function, managed to find all answers by doing that. Good luck if you give it another go 🤞

Hi guys I’m new to the thread - sorry if it was mentioned and I missed it, for Appen is there a specific thread? I’m not sure whether to choose the option of being an independent business or contracting directly with Appen? Never done this before :S

I think Elk seems to be finished, I haven't had anything on there for days. All I've got is Cotton* which is tedious to say the least. Are other Appen projects more exciting?? I'm watching old episodes of Jonathan Creek to get me through it!

Yay! I passed appen forest on my second attempt. I wonder when it starts..!?

Anyone else doing Acas*** on Appen? I am waiting to start. Apparently they will send me an email about the assignment.

I had a look on Elk this morning and there didn't seem to be any work for me either.

Having failed one of the Forr* tests (the one where you had to listen) I tried the other Forr* test - where you have to transcribe, and I passed that one :/ That's good, I suppose, but it all seems to random - I felt far less secure with that one than the one I failed...

@MoreMoneyPlease I have desh and ghopper, both of which I prefer to cwood. I like desh best, ghop is similar to elk.

Hello, Thank you all so much for all of your information on here. It's so useful.
I have tried to follow advice and sign up to Appen. It looks like I've been accepted and now says I need to qualify on one of the projects to activate my account.
Do I apply for a few, with the understanding that I won't get accepted to most or so I just do one at a time?
I really only want to do about 10 hours a week but some say 4-6 hours a day mon-sun but this can't be everyday? It's all a bit confusing.
Thank you for any help you can give. I'm an ex-primary school teacher so have zero experience with anything like this.

@Bemystarlord giving it another go with forester as I type. I used Ctrl F last time too but guess I'm just thick lol.

@SNISR ah no dont be daft, i’ve failed more Appens than i care to mention! Its just hit and miss and theres no logic to some of them!!

The Appen you all talk about did you have to send them a cv?

@Whatsmyname2019 I'm pretty certain I remember sending Appen a CV.

@Junobug I apply for everything I can, I've passed about 5 tests (failed another 5 or so, no idea why you pass some and fail others!) Currently working on 2 projects (the others don't seem to be live yet). I've been doing it for about a month and have averaged about 3 hours a day over the 2 projects. I work during the day and try to do it in the evening. Sometimes the tasks dry up so you can't work the project anyway.

@Buster27 That's good to know! I passed ghop too but the queue isn't showing up for me. Not too bothered if it's just like cwood. Will wait for the new transcription one to start

I'm on innari uc on appen which requires 3 hours of my day and I teach on palfish which is normally about 2 hours a day. Hopefully I can fit in both the forester projects too and put this money towards my savings. Really happy!
