Universal Credit

We recently applied for universal credit due to one of losing our jobs but we are now back on track with jobs and all is back to normal. We have informed UC of the new job but we haven't heard anything back. I believe they are due to calculate early December. My question is - will we be eligible at all for anything when between the two of us we earn around £53000 with one child living with us and one we are paying maintenance for but our rent and housing costs are quite expensive. Is it worth sticking round or shall I just ask them to withdraw the application and forget about it?

Any UC payment will be calculated on earnings during your assessment period so it would depend what earnings you had during that time. Uc is worked out in 'real time' rather than over the year so if you were one wage down during this first assessment period it may be possible that you get some , but if earnings back up to £53k then very unlikely you will get anything the next month and they will close your claim. Child maintenance is not taken into account , neither are any other outgoings except rent and childcare costs.
