How to budget with multiple accounts

We really need to get a handle on day to day finances and paying off debt. I've been reading various bits and I think getting a few different accounts for different things makes sense. So far, we have a joint account and a savings account.
We've just applied for single and joint mono accounts but I'd like to know how other people use multiple accounts. My plan was to keep the original account for bills and direct debits, set up standing orders for paying off debt (which I've moved to a 0% credit card) and then move spending money to the monzo. But do I do all spending money or some in to sole accounts or split grocery money from other spending money? I guess my question is, how many little pots do you have and what works best? Thank you.

I have just downloaded a budgetIng app - I was struggling as I use a credit card to get cashbaxk but then feel I don't have a handle on what I spend in the month as obviously I don't pay cc to following month.

I have a current account and 2 savings accounts - I I save monthly for annual expenditure the other is actual savings.

With the budgeting app it imports the transactions from any accounts you specify (I do current and credit card). It has loads of categories and you can allocate budgets against them. Then when it imports your transactions you slot them against those budgets (it can be set to match anything from a certain place to a certain spend and it automatically knows for example what council tax is or electric and gas) . So I have all the relevant pots and I can see where I am against each. It's great in that my credit card spend is reflected in the actual month it occurs rather than just being a big lump sum the following month.

So I have my 'spending' money as a separate pot within my budget.

If you have a monzo account it is really easy to have lots of pots. i have them.for all.sorts. Spending, holiday, kids clothes, my clothes, car, Christmas and birthdays etc etc. I keep everything in there then withdraw or transfer to my main bank account as and when. I still keep a main account which my pay goes into and all.my Bill's come.out of. I dont.keep anything in monzo out of the pots then you cant spend anything as it wont let you buy anything unless the funds are in the main part of the account.
