UC rental help whilst owning a property

So I'm waiting for my ex to buy me out if our current property. I qualify for UC as a single person, I'm sure I've read that I can get help for 6 months with rental payments. The idea is that's the property should be sold within that 6 month period. Can I find this I for now I'm looking to move into rental...? Nope, pls help as I'm sure someone knows x

Please be careful moving out.I could afford to but it still took 1 1/2 years as exdh wouldn't agree with things. Also there seems to be a slow down due to Brexit uncertainties so 6 month normally would seem OK But may be optimistic in today's market.
Sorry to sound negative,if you get a buyer quickly you could be OK.
Why are you the one moving?

Thank you for the reply, he is buying me out so it shouldn't take took long. Even so, if I stay here it will come at a cost of my mental health and I can't do that anymore x

Is there any reason why you can't stay in the property and he move out? they will help with the rent element for a number of months as long as reasonable attempts are being made to sell the property. Bear in mind also that if when he does buy you out if you end up with equity of more than 16k you will no longer qualify for Uc . I think there is a clause where the money can be used to go directly to buy another property.
