Money worries

I feeling like I'm loosing my mind. I have a major anxiety over money (or rather not having any) and it's taking over my life.

I'm a new mum having to go back to work after nine month. Originally was going to take a year off but financially not possible. I have a lot of guilt about this and it's affecting my mental health.

I'm not a high earner not my husband but we re not entitled to any help apart from the standard £80 a month.

I don't know how to stop my mind spiralling, I end up in tears and with a major headache.

Has anyone got any advice on who I can turn to in asking if I'm entitled to anything or what I'd be entitled too? I'm just a bit stuck really.

The only thing you could be entitled to is Universal credit and this is based on your circumstances - whether you pay childcare, rent, your age, kids etc. If you give me details of your ages and net earnings 9 for both of you) , rent etc I can do a quick calculation.

Sounds like you need a full review of your finances. Do you live in an expensive area? Do you have debts? If you're not entitled to benefits you should have a reasonable income.

Have a look at the moneysaving expert money makeover - go through it and do everything that is relevant. You might find that you can cut your basic costs a little to leave more spending money. Or you might find that you're overspending somewhere, so look for advice on how to do things cheaper:

I feel your pain I really do and we are the same. Dp is a low earner and I'm average.

is the money anxiety real or a sign of overall anxiety.? Everyone worries about money but I found going back to work and leaving ds hideous and this manifested as anxiety not just over money but generally

If it is money then Entitled to has a quick calculator you can use for benefits. Money saving expert is good too.

I buy ds bbay toys second hand as soo much cheaper and clothes bundles too as he's out of things in seconds.

If you're both working over 16 hours a week you will be entitled to the tax free childcare account - knocks 20% ff your nursery fees.
