Taking a personal loan out when pregnant - declaring pregnancy?

So I need to take a loan out for a new bathroom and a car. I'm due beginning of November. I'm applying as my salary is loads more than my partner's.

We are in a unique situation in that we currently live in a house my parents own (been rent free for a while) and I'm buying the house off them with inheritance money. It's already owned outright and I'm buying outright so we will have no mortgage. It's not gone through yet though so I've been told I have to put tenant as my homeowner status.

We can afford the loan repayments as my partner will also be helping pay off the loan and with bills whilst I'm on maternity. But I'm worried they'll just see that I'm going on maternity and I won't get the loan or the best rate. But then I'm also worried that not declaring it, would be just as bad!

Anyone have any experience in this or knowledge?

.If you're employed why tell them you're going on mat leave, unless they specifically ask? If they need to know they will ask.

You normally have to declare that you're income is not expected to reduce in the next 2 years. It's up to you how you answer though 😉

So, you have a house with no mortgage, your parents will be selling it to you, you are paying in full with inheritance

but you want to take out a loan, which your partner will be paying? How would you cope if you had to pay rent mortgage? Are your outgoings so much?

If you are the main earner, are you getting good maternity leave pay?

I'll be repaying the loan but he's going to be giving me money each month to help with loan and bills so our outgoings will be covered. We don't have any credit card debt or anything at the moment too.

My maternity is for 9 months - it's not amazing as I work in the public sector but I'll be back on full pay by August 2020.
