Bank refund

Just looking for some advice.

So I made an order via amazon's prime wardrobe - order qualifying items, get a 7 day try on period.

So I ordered a pair of trainers, missed the 7 day return cut off but did return them, contacted amazon with proof of postage and they said no money would come out but they have charged me for them. I contacted amazon who gave me an authorisation code and said to contact Halifax and they should be able to refund it, which I did. She said if successful it could take up to 24 hours to go back into my account.

Now what I'm confused about is that the money is in pending so will they actually be able to refund it as I didn't they they could? I thought it would of had to complete before anything could be done.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and does this sound right?
Thank you!

Entire thing sounds bizarre

I’ve always found amazon to just refund immediately. Never had to contact my bank with a code

That's exactly what I thought, it's confused me a lot. That's why I was hoping someone on here would know what they're talking about Confused

If it's only pending, with the code Halifax just release the money rather than wait for it to clear and refund it. Amazon won't call for it so Halifax just need to take it off pending
