Adjusted net income and child benefit

I now earn just over the threshold (£52,000) for the child benefit cap.

Am I right in thinking that as I contribute more than £2k to my pension per year that it takes me below £50k that I can continue to claim child benefit? Do I still need to do a tax return?

Yes you are right.

Not 100% sure about the tax return

Don't forget to take into account any bonuses you receive, if you haven't already. They count in the overall earnings.

Thanks @chocolatesaltyballs22 fortunately or unfortunately I don't get any bonuses.

Does anyone know if I need to do a tax return? Surely the pension contributions keep me under the threshold as far as the tax office is concerned?
