This is more a legal question than a money matter. My son of 17 years has suffered domestic violence from his girlfriend who he has now left. She had his baby and the baby has been placed in foster care. She has made things up about him which is making the assessment process very long and difficult as he wants to be able to look after his baby. We as his parents are there to support him. We have little contact with baby and at a place that is not local to us. We have solicitors involved. Can we do anything at all e.g human rights, as we are a close caring family who love and cherish our children. We feel that are human rights are being violated as we cannot see our baby as regular as we would like and he belongs within our family. We will never be able to recapture precious moments, developmental achievements, bonding etc. How do we prove our worth as it is affecting our life. The girlfriend is not interested in baby and has written a letter to social services with effect. Can you imagine just being an ordinary family who are not abusive in any shape or form not able to see a new baby that is born within their family regularly. This is our Grandchild that my husband has seen twice and myself once a fortnight. Unable to do anything about it!

I presume your solicitor is seeking a contact order (if you have not already got one). This thread on a message board run by Liberty may be of help to you.
