Rounding down your current account daily

So I saw this tip on here on the paying off debt thread & I started doing it in March.

Every evening I round down my current account to the nearest £10 & transfer the amount over into a second account on internet banking.

Since March I've managed to squirrel away just short of £600 and pay off my credit card bill 7 months earlier than planned with it (when the extra account got to £100 I paid that off my card on top of normal payment)

Have to admit we've never been the best with budgeting, I'm one of those that can go into the supermarket & spend X amount so not sure it would work as well if you do work to a strict budget already but just thought it was a fab tip, thanks to whoever originally suggested it.

I'll keep doing it now for holiday / Christmas spends.

I do something a bit less drastic - I round up every transaction as I go so that at the end of the month there is a small surplus. It can soon add up.

Great tip - I'm going to try this. Thanks!

I have a monzo card that has a round up pot on it so it automatically does what @kilash does. It adds up pretty quickly.

Going to start this tomorrow

I started doing this with my Monzo account, as @inwood says it can be set up so it's done automatically. Managed to put aside over £100 which came in handy earlier this month when I was struggling.
