Discretionary trust

Hi all , does anyone have knowledge or comments on this please ?
My uncle died last summer leaving a sum of money in a discretionary trust , shared between 8 nieces and nephews , three from his side and 4 from his late wife’s side ( who are unknown to me and my cousins )

My brother was a beneficiary too but sadly died a few weeks ago , before the trust was signed by everyone . His will left everything to his wife , then his estate would be shared between his family and his wife’s family on her death.
Because there is nothing in the trust mentioning what would happen if a beneficiary died before signing the deed , it seems his wife will not inherit anything from the trust. I believe the money should go to my brother’s estate .

.The only way the trustees will discuss my SIL becoming a beneficiary .........is if 2 of the beneficiaries nominate her to become an added beneficiary ? I am the only one willing to do this . Otherwise my brother’s share would be split to the remaining 7 beneficiaries. My brother said clearly that his share should go to his wife.
My cousins think his wife should inherit - but won’t go so far as to nominate her , as they can’t know that’s what my aunt would have wanted .Thank you .
