Has anyone had experience of going from a poor to good credit score???

What did you do to better your score and how long did it take?

Advice would be greatly appreciated xxx

Get a credit card and each month buy something small with it say £30 for argument sake and pay it back in full and on time. This deffo helps the score as I've done it myself

Ignore your score OP, it is a marketing gimmick created by credit reference agencies, credit providers do not see your score.

You should focus on your credit history, this can be improved by making all your reportable payments on time and showing good use of credit (e.g. using and paying a credit card back in full each month).

Read the forum on Money Saving Expert and use the eligibility checker on there of you are looking to get a credit card.

Hi, I downloaded one of the free credit report apps on my phone so I could check my monthly progress and my credit report (on clearscore, it updates monthly),when it did start to go up, I found it helped to motivate me. Although I think the different apps may score you differently.

I increased all my cc repayments and focused on clearing my debt as quickly as I could afford to. I made sure I didn't miss any repayments and did not apply for any further credit, and cancelled open credit I didn't need.

It takes time but can be done. I found that once my credit score had improved, I was able to get 0% balance transfers to help pay off the outstanding debt quicker with no interest.

Lots of luck, don't give up!

Thankyou .. I've logged onto clear score. Now I can see where I'm going wrong, gone wrong etc.

I have small debts from 2013 m/2014 on there that are with companies now like Lowell etc... I'm I best paying these off and do I pay to Lowell???

Thankyou
