Your new employer should ask you to complete the HMRC starter checklist form. On there are 3 statements about whether this new job is your only one since April; or if you had a job before this one ; or if you still have another job. HMRC will get the information and tie your records together. But you will be on emergency tax code until then.

When I've processed new starters without a P45 they've gone into an emergency tax code for that first month but HMRC are quick at updating the code and once applied will refund any overpayment in the next months wage.

You can inform HMRC that you have left a job by using the online account. That together with New Starter Checklist/P46 may help speed up HMRC allocating a cumulative tax code to the new job.

Be careful if you leave a job mid month, you don't want to underpay Income Tax. So important to complete New Starter accurately.
