Buying Clothes on Small Budget

TillyTots1234 · 21/06/2019 21:35

Hi, I’m in desperate need of more clothes. I have two pairs of jeans (one pair is marked), two shorts and four t shirts (two are wash faded). I can’t afford to buy new clothes, charity shop prices seem to be not too far of retailer prices. Is there anywhere else to buy reasonably priced clothes?

Thanks!

Try Shein Can't promise everything is good, but stuff I've had is really pretty and gets loads of compliments, washes well etc.

I’ve had a look at Shein but it isn’t within my budget. I think I’ll keep looking in charity shops and also local selling pages. Maybe something will come up on there.

I buy a lot of stuff on a selling app called depop. It's almost like Instagram but for buying and selling.
Items vary massively on price but if you have the patience to search you can find some bargains. Some sellers are open to doing bundles of items. I've bought tops for £1-£2 before, including jumpers from top shop and urban outfitters, it's just finding a decent seller.
Recently I purchased an osprey ( means nothing to me, was just a black bag, only found after googling) bag for £7.50. Also bagged some doctor martens for under £10 including postage.
One persons junk is another's treasure!

I also find car boot sales great for real bargains, most people just want stuff gone.

Asda teen clothes should fit you and no tax.

Can you use a sewing machine? Larger size skirts are very easy to run in. Also, ask on freecycle? Supermarket clothes sales can be very cheap too.

Someone mentioned New Look sales, I’m sure you can order from them online, no?

Have you looked at Tu in Sainsbury’s, or George in Asda, things like that?

I have literally
Loads of size 10 clothes right now as just sorted wardrobe out.
It will all end up going to a charity shop but if you pm me I'm happy to send some your way.

I'm also down south

Car boot sales are the cheapest

managedmis · 22/06/2019 02:44

Go to a car boot sale at 3pm and smile at people with loads of clothes left over - they will sell them to you super cheaply

AdaShelby · 22/06/2019 07:08

Car boot sales definitely. Most things are 50p or a quid.

Where down south are you? Usually a primark somewhere near by down here. Bargains galore in there.

Hi if you have a dealz store near you, I have seen nice summer dresses for very little , might be worth a look

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 24/06/2019 16:28

Try a car boot. Haggle with them if needed.
