Single mum of 2 & just graduated and actively looking for work. Just claimed UC over a week ago and was paid in advance but wondering if I will still get paid my weekly child benefits. I was paid my UC advance payment on Tuesday and wondering if I will get my usual weekly child benefit on Monday for my 1st child and the monthly payment due on Tuesday for my 2nd child. Does anyone know pls.

They are totally unrelated so I don't see why child benefit would stop

Forgot to ask if my PIP will also be paid when due or is it merged with universal credit or separate?

Found this online:
(How does Universal Credit affect PIP and DLA?*

If you’re getting Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA), it will continue to be paid along with your Universal Credit payment.

You get these benefits if your condition is severe enough for you to qualify for them. They won’t affect the amount you get in Universal Credit.

CB is completely unrelated and will continue as it was. Any child tax credits would stop.

PiP is separate to UC, however if your condition is serious enough that you were previously getting a severe disability premium for other benefits you shouldn't claim UC and need to talk to the JC if you have already claimed it. Again depending on what the condition is and how it affects you you could have to have an assessment to decide which work group you go into (eg how much work searching you have to do, how often you have to attend the JC etc)

You have said you have had an advance - don't forget this is a loan, not actually being paid in advance so will reduce your later payments.

Op you need to ring UC immediately you should not have claimed UC rather tax credits and jsa or IS.
Your claim should not have been accepted if you live alone and claim pip.

You would only not be allowed to claim UC if you had sdp on esa or jsa or were entitled to it.

Odd that op has been able to claim UC though as when you make an application it specifically asks a few questions to weed out people who may be getting sdp, so really you shouldn't be able to proceed with the claim if this is the case. Does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you op ?
