We've been claiming tax credits since my eldest was born, through low income, maternity leave and pay rises, the amount we've been entitled to over the years has been up and down.
Now after child no 3, I am a stay at home parent, and my other half has a decent salary. Last year, his gross pay was just shy of £37,000, and thus year he's had a pay rise and has performance based bonuses at the end of the year - so we have informed tax credits over the phone his salary will be £40,000. We've received £24 per week CTC until now, and looked on the online manage tax credits account, expecting to show the amount we will receive from now on as £0, as this is what the tax credits entitlement calculator (the one on .gov website) says we are entitled to. However, it says all future payments will be £17 per week!
When we did the online calculation, 3 kids, £40,000 salary, it stated we would receive £0. 3 kids, £39,000 salary is £24 every 4 weeks. So why are we now receiving £17 per week? I'm worried we'll be asked to repay is at the end of the financial year!
