Last year my husband and I split up. It was a really awful time and I thought our marriage was over for good. He moved back in with his parents, and had to pay them rent, so reduced the money he had previously given me to child maintenance (a measly set amount he came up with in accordance to csa website) plus half the mortgage. I began to claim universal credit, as I only earn a low income. He was the main earner.
We have both made a lot of changes in the past few months and are getting on far better now, better than we ever have, and after a lot of talking, meeting up, I would like us to make a go of it again as a family and for him to move back in.
What do I about universal credit? Do I just ring them and say he is moving back in and I no longer need to claim..(we definatley won't be entitled to uc any more as we weren't previously).
I am paranoid they will think that we intentionally split up to gain benefits. This was absolutely not the case but you do hear about these things happening.
