How do I pay rent and deposit on particular day if I don't get paid until a few days after that day?

I'm moving to a new apartment on Monday, on the moving day I need £2k to sign the contract (deposit and first months rent). My problem is that my salary and maintenance comes in on the first of every month. I don't have 2k right now BUT on the 1st I will have more than 2k. The estate agent is saying I cannot start tenancy without the money which is understandable, my boss is saying he cannot pay me early and my child's dad is saying he doesn't get paid until the first (which is when he pays me maintenance) so he can't pay maintenance early. I can't move at a later date because someone is moving into the flat I'm moving out of.

I don't know what to do, no one has any money right before the end of the month for mate loans. I looked up getting an online £2k loan for a week which is something that doesn't seem to exist, then I looked at any other available £2k loans and it's like they charge so much!! I pretty much no credit score.. Any car I have bought outright, I have never had a credit card.. etc.

Am I being a numpty in not being able to work this out? Please could someone, help me problem solve this as I'm sat here not knowing what to do

What about something like Zopa, peer to peer lending and you can pay it off a week later with no penalty.

If you have a bank account and a good track record with them they should be your first port of call.

You can ask to move in on 3rd or 2nf of the month and offer to still pay a full month.

But honestly? I wouldn’t rent to you and I’m not sure how you passed a security check. If you can’t even make the deposit/first month, then what happens when you can’t cover your rent for one month because you can’t work/have accident/etc? As a landlord, I would be shitting myself every month wondering if you could pay or not.

Agree your bank are the best option. If you have a good track record of not exceeding a planned overdraft they will often lend to you even if you have a poor credit score.

When I used to rent as a single parent many years ago I often had this scenario and would usually borrow the money from my Dad and pay him back when I got my deposit back from the place I was leaving.

If you would otherwise be homeless, your local council might have a scheme where they give or lend you money for a deposit. Worth looking on their website and giving them a call.

I agree with arranging a temporary overdraft

Have you asked your bank about an overdraft?

You really need to delay your moving in date until the 1st or a couple days after and then have your rent payment setup for that date every month. If not, come next month you won’t have your rent on time and then what will you do? Can you somehow store your stuff and crash with a friend or family member until the beginning of the month?
