Early repayment fee (mortgage)

My husband and i have decided to get divorced. As part of the financial agreement, he is giving me the house.

The mortgage and property is currently in his name only (we bought it early in the relationship and didn't want to commit too early and just never got round to adding me on).

There is a £2k early repayment fee. we just contacted his loan provider to ask if they would consider wavering it if i take out my new mortgage with them (rather than going out to the wider market) and they advised to put it in writing as the directors meet weekly to review such request and approve/reject them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should/shouldn't put in the letter? I'll need to take some of the equity out of the property to repay my debt so that i can afford the repayments, not sure if i should mention that or hope that it doesn't affect anything if they do waiver it and i make the application?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I wouldn’t put any threats, unpleasant remarked

I would put it’s exceptional in your case as divorce was unforeseen, beyond your control

Also it’s ‘waive’ not waiver, make sure letter is correctly written.
