Inspired by the £10 a day threads I've started matched betting. After having my LG and going part-time has put a dent in the money pot. On £200 so far after a week.

Decided to sign up to corals bet club to find part of the offer is a free £5 bet in store. You need a special card to connect your account. decided to nip in to get it today and got ranted at by the sales assistant. I was with my lg (18 months) and was told I was not allowed in. I was not aware of that being the case . Don't get me wrong, I don't think betting shops are ok for kids but I though I was literally going to pick up a form , in and out. I have memories of someone babysitting me and us going to visit the "horsey shop".

I walked out feeling like I had tried to take her into a drug den :(

Its a really really strict police. No under 18s at all. Not even over the doorway. The cashidr would have been panicking they could lose their job which could be likely, they wont have meant to be rude. I work in a bookie and have had the same experience, sorry

It doesn't matter how quick you intended to be, it's unlawful to allow a child in a betting shop. The individual worker is personally liable for such an offence, in the same way that a shop worker who supplies cigarettes etc is.

Lesson learned for next time. Not fair to put shop staff in that position.
