Are sleep ins considered overtime?

I'm trying to work out tax credits, which is difficult as my new partner is a full time support worker who does sleep ins (where he just has to sleep over at the home). Are they considered hours worked? Or because they aren't included in his set annual wage (he's contracted for 38 hours weekly) are they considered overtime? The amount of sleep ins he does isn't compulsory and change all the time. He also gets a set amount of money for every sleep in he does, he doesn't get paid minimum wage unless he's woken in the night.

Thanks in advance x

It doesn't make any difference whether you call it overtime or not. what matters is the total amount of money he earns so just be sure to include it in your calculations.

Okay cool, so I just estimate roughly how many sleeps ins he will be doing a year then? Because they aren't set in stone
