Hello I'm going to post here and education for advice . Please help if you can offer advice . My daughter has a boyfriend who is at uni but his mum died 6 months ago . He has no other family at all . It's has just come out that when mum was in hospital dieing he covered the rent and had to use his student loan . He now has maxed this out is realky struggling has 2 jobs and is living on 10 pounds a week food . It's come out also that He s always had to pay towards rent since he was 15 :( . I know he's got full bursary but can't get straight because of his overdraft and is now really worried about his deposit needed for the next house he lives in also who he would have as a guarantor . I'm going to help as much as I can but have also been a single mum for years so can't do much . I did think about a go fund page . Any ideas please. Please be kind this is very upsetting

Suggest he goes to talk to Student Welfare in the Student Union at University. they will be the best people to point him in the right direction.

Could you look at Trust Funding? There are thousands of charities that give educational grants and bursaries particularly to people in terrible situations like this poor boy.
Try the Turn2us website but also get a copy of the guide to Educational Grants, it might be in your local library.
Good luck OP - there is always a way.

If possible get part time job in super market, restaurant, fast food, some give free food as part of working there. Try Food bank. Ask at his university if there are any hardship grants and if they guarantor for accommodation. A local church may offer some help and advice, or volunteer in exchange for food
