Im in a really odd and difficult situation so I'm really hoping anyone can help me with this please.
I cant give too much of my personal life away because it would be seriously outting. My husband died 2 weeks ago. He was in the army but he had left around 7 years ago, someone has mentioned that he would've paid into a life insurance plan while he was in the army..? I can't remember if he ever did or if it was a mandatory thing anyway that came off his wages. Does anyone know how I can find out and how I can possibly make a claim if he did have a life insurance plan back then and would it still be valid now to claim? Any information would be great because I really have no idea.

Hi there,
So sorry about your loss

Not life insurance, but his MOD pension will have death benefits for you of some sort.
Find his service number and give them a call
www.moneyforce.org.uk/Managing-money/Plan/Pensions/Military-pensions

and make sure you claim this www.gov.uk/bereavement-allowance

Sorry for your loss OP Flowers
I'd recommend getting in touch with the Veterans Welfare Service www.gov.uk/government/groups/veterans-welfare-service
DH has had help from them since leaving the forces and found them very helpful.

It could have been PAX insurance. I don't know about their t&c, but it might be worth googling their contact details and giving them a ring.

Sorry for your loss

Also remember that as your dh was in the army during his life, the British legion would be an organisation for you to contact for help and assistance. They can tap into 2000 charities that may be able to offer you help at this time and later

They may also be able to help you answer the question if his life insurance
