Sick leave and mortgage application

Me and DP have just had an offer accepted on a house and have accepted an offer on our flat so we are now moving forward with everything. We've had our flat on the market for ages, so initially got our agreement in principle several months ago. Since then I had about 6 weeks off work (all on SSP, no full pay) so in my recent payslips, the salary is much lower than normal.
I'm back at work now, on a permanent contract, not in a probationary period (I was in probationary period when I was off sick, hence no sick pay). Will this affect anything with the mortgage? Or will my contract and continued employment be enough??

How many months ago was the sick period?

They normally ask for 3months of wage slips so if ur salary is lower over this time it will prob effect ur affordability assessment

The sick pay predominantly affected November payslip, also affected December but less so, January was back to normal.

Depends.

I had sick pay on my payslip (company sick pay too), and the mortgage company were asking if it was permenent sick.... but then my next payslip showed me back at normal work and it was fine....

depends on the mortgage provider...but as long as your next one is full pay showing what you earn it should be fine!

My partner had two weeks off sick due to an operation. Our mortgage company queried it but it was more to confirm that he was back at work and not on long term sick.

We did have to wait to provide the next month payslip which did not show sick pay.

This happened to a friend, he was back at work but an earlier pay slip showed sick leave, the mortgage provider asked for info but once he was able to confirm and prove he was back to work full time it wasn’t an issue. So fingers crossed for you all will be ok.
