Can my DH get a 0% card that I can transfer my credit card balance to?

Basically he has a great job (but rather iffy credit rating) I have no job (pretty good credit rating though).
I have a credit card that is no longer 0% and because I have no job I can't apply for another card.
So can he (try to...) apply for a 0% credit card in his name but then take MY balance over to it? He'd also be taking his balance too from another card...

I hope that makes sense...
Anyone done this or have any idea?

You can do this yes, as long as it’s not the same bank. All you need is the 16 digit card number.

Would also advise using the money saving expert card eligibility checker (soft credit search so no harm to rating) to see what cards you are most likely to be accepted for.

I’ve done it, it’s fine. As pp said, do a soft search using moneysavingexpert and MoneySuperMarket, you can sometimes be pre approved for cards.

Thanks xx I'm on the case. We're doing well getting our ducks in a row so this would be great to get done too.

Not having a job doesn’t matter when it comes to applying for credit. I haven’t worked for 8 years and always get accepted. They ask for income - I always put the household income. No issues whatsoever.

(I do put that I’m not employed so they’re not able to say that’s what I’m saying I’m earning. I’ve had cards with virgin, Barclaycard and others).

If he has an iffy credit rating he might not get the 0% deal that you need.

Sounds like you need to apply yourself although I wouldn't take too much notice of the MSE eligibilty checker, it's always been way off for me.

As a side note, if he has a great job, why is his credit shit? If it's CBA/disorganisation, he needs a kick up the arse or you need to do it all for him.

Paying out on bank charges and interest because your low rating means you can't get the good deals is just stupid if you have money but just CBA managing it properly. Get all credit cards on direct debit for either the minimum or full payment as appropriate and never miss a payment again.
