Child benefit isn't capped by number of children, only by the high income benefit charge

If you go on the entitled to site you can do a calculation to see if you’d be eligible for any tax credits etc.

No you wouldn't get any further child tax credits for a fourth child. You can claim Child benefit for the new baby and childcare costs ( up to the maximum allowed) for the baby in the future if you wish to work. having a disabled child will only stop you being capped , it doesn't mean you will get further tax credits for the new baby. they will pay for a maximum of two children after April 2017.

Haven't they just said that they're going back to allowing all DCs to be counted for tax credits/UC?

I thought that was only for babies born before the date of the change was announced.

Babyroobs · 17/01/2019 18:41

Yes it's only for children born before the rules changed. You will not get tax credits or Uc child element for a third child born after April 6th 2017 unless a multiple birth.

You won’t get tax credits but things like housing benefit can increase.

You should still be entitled to CB if you were for your other kids.

The disabled child exemption just means that you can receive all the benefits you are entitled too and are not capped at the maximum amount of £23k in London, or I think £20k outside.
