Child benefit- household income or sole income?

Just read an article online (sorry it was the daily mail) and it mentioned that child benefit was reduced once household income past 50k. I thought it was individual income????? if I have got this wrong I’ve some sorting out to do. Please can someone clarify and point me in the right direction. Thanks.

It's based on the highest earner, not household income. On theory 2 people could earn £49K each and lose nothing whereas 1 person earning just over £60K had to pay it all back

Thanks for that.

www.gov.uk/child-benefit-tax-charge says

You may have to pay a tax charge, known as the ‘High Income Child Benefit Charge’, if you have an individual income over £50,000
