Does anybody use Plum to save money?

I just read about it and wondered how legit/effective it is?

It works okay. Can't see the point of it, though

potatoscone · 03/01/2019 18:39

Why do you use it?

OP posts:

Just to create direct debits for a current account I've got that needs direct debits in order to pay interest

potatoscone · 04/01/2019 09:17

How does it create direct debits? Sorry but I have no idea what your post means!

You link it with a current account. It sets a direct debit to move money from your current account to Plum every week or so

potatoscone · 04/01/2019 16:09

You use it but don't see the point in it. Why use it? To create direct debits? I still don't understand that?

Does anyone use Plum who is able to tel me anything about it?

Yes. I use it because the bank account I have needs to have direct debits coming out, otherwise I don't earn interest. Plum creates the direct debit. Then I pay the money from Plum back into my bank account. Plum doesn't pay interest.
Why are you interested in Plum?

MrsLuther · 04/01/2019 21:49

I use chip

Cardilover · 15/01/2019 16:20

Hi OP, I came on to start a similar thread - did you start using it? How are you finding it?

Zebedee88 · 15/01/2019 16:21

I use moneybox, I like it.

Cardilover · 15/01/2019 19:19

How does that one work Zebedee?

Zebedee88 · 15/01/2019 19:44

It links upto your account and you can set how much you want to be taken out weekly or on payday. If you have a bit less money that month/week you can lower the amount or not let any money come out at all. Also, if you feel like you've got extra money that you want to put away you can easily add it on. When you spend your card, it will put aside the money that makes it go up to the nearest pound, but again, you don't have to put it away. It is a stocks and shares saving plan, but you can choose to have a small risk, medium risk to high. It is meant to be more for long term investment, however when I needed to take some money out it was done within 2 weeks ( they have to sell your shares, but it's done quickly)
