Savings accounts for children?

Children are 8 & 10. Would like to get them some sort of savings account they can deposit & withdraw from. When I was young I had a post office one & then a building society account. Thoughts on good equivalents now?

Maybe one with your own bank? Or look on money saving expert website

Don't think they can have bank accounts til 11, so maybe have to just wait

You can have savings accounts from birth. It's current accounts you can have from age 11

They can't get an account with a card under age 11 but can have savings accounts

Yes was hoping for something more 'current' where they can deposit & withdraw by going in to a branch. I had accounts like that as a child so could save a bit and then get it out for holidays or a shopping trip. Just can't find anything that isn't a parent overseen child's savings account. Was hoping someone might know of options... maybe there just isn't anything Xmas Smile

You could try a prepaid card but they do have a fee. Nimbl, GoHenry and Osper all do them from a younger age
