Do you have a maintenance loan?

19lottie82 · 03/11/2018 11:40

Do you have any kids?

Try your student finance office. If you can prove your income doesn’t meet your outgoings then you should be able to access a hardship fund.

Many full time students have part time jobs. Could you look into that? Especially coming up to Christmas there will be opportunities around.

You won't get any help financially beyond your maintenance loan, unless you have dependents. And as far as I'm aware you can't claim any benefits as a student like housing benefit etc. A part time bar job or similar should help towards the cost, most students have to get jobs to subsidise the loans, I got under £4K a year maintenance and my rent was around £9k.

What benefits are you in receipt of, and what student finance, and any other income?

Bombardier25966 · 03/11/2018 12:27

Haven't you asked this before, and has your partner now moved in?

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 12:28

Yes you can, I get the majority of my rent paid by housing benefit and the rest topped up through student finance and UC (used to be tax credits) xx

mumoftwox · 03/11/2018 13:15

I just get Sass, child benefit and child tax.

Who are you living with, where does your partner live? What happened to your old housing benefit claim?

If your a single parent it may be possible. Are you in a universal credit full service area?
