Universal credits

Hi I'm currently making a universal credit claim. I'm on my maternity leave receiving statutory pay government funded. I work 30 hours a week normally and was just wondering what help I will receive?
I've tried the online calculators and nothing makes much sense!
I'm single and leaving alone and private rented.
My interview is for tomorrow.
Apparently I don't qualify for reduced council tax.

Any help would be most grateful.

Is it smp you are getting or maternity Allowance?
You may not qualify for council tax reduction at the moment but should do if you are just dropping to smp or MA. Your council will usually re-calculate after Uc is awarded.
UC is based on you being entitled to a basic personal element ( or couple element if you are a couple) and rent element. You may not get your full rent paid if you have more bedrooms than you need or your rent is more then your local authority allowance ( if private renting). When your baby is born you will also get a child element ( around £231). These elements added together are your total UC. This amount is then reduced by wages - if maternity allowance it is reduced pound for pound . If it's smp then it is on a taper of 63p in the pound. Once you have your baby you will get a work allowance which means that a certain amount ( £198 ) is disregarded before your wages reduce your Uc amount.

Just to add - at your first interview you should be offered an advance payment based on what you might get each month.

@Babyroobs just out of interest, are you a UCFS CM? I often see you posting on UC threads and thought I'd ask!
