Hi all, in my younger years I thought I was a millionaire on a apprenticeship wage and got my self into some debt, I am in a debt management plan however I have been on Google and found a system where if you send 3 letters into the debt agency sometimes the debt can be wiped, has anyone had experience doing this?
Thanks in advance

I have never heard of it. I used to work in debt recovery for a private company. We would never have wiped any ones debt. They took one poor sod to court for a ccj and he only owed £100.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. What does martin lewis say about this system?

KanielOutis · 26/09/2018 20:33

If it was that simple, everyone would be doing it. Can you write them all at the same time and post them together? Cut out the wait? I'd stick with the DMP.

sounds odd to me

Zioanna · 26/09/2018 21:44

Sounds extremely unlikely. What’s the system called? What website did you find it on?

This is going to be some freeman on the land thing... It really doesn't work. It's complete rubbish.

I have read a bit about it. However, do you feel justified in trying to get out of paying?

Zioanna · 26/09/2018 22:11

Just had a look- it’s rubbish I’m afraid. Various forms of this have been going around for years and it all rests on whether the creditor can prove you owe the money, for example by providing a copy of your original credit agreement. Do you have any reason to doubt they’d be able to prove you’re liable for these debts?

In my honest opinion it's my debt and my stupidity so I should pay it off, I just wanted to know about this system
