Adult DS at home allowed to claim WTC?

If anyone actually knows the answer to this I would be very grateful! spent a while googling but can't find the answer and don't want to spend ages on hold if it is a definite no no anyway.

My DH and I are entitled to and claim both CTC and WTC as we both work and have younger children. We have recieved no money at all since our DS was 16 as he was working however he is currently doing a full time apprenticeship whereby he gets less than £600 per month.

He gives us a small amount each week in 'board'.

Is he able to claim WTC in his own right without affecting our claim?

If he moved out (he is possibly considering this) would he then be able to claim WTC?

I know there are some different rules for young people eg no Housing benefit for under 25's but otherwise really don't know much about benefits

You have to be over 25 to make a claim for WTC unless you have kids I think.. In many areas WTC has now been replaced by Universal credit but it's unlikely he would get that as a single childless person.

He won't be entitled to it, OP. Have a look at this.
