Hellooooo

[to the tune of 'There once was an ugly duckling]

if I were a full time student
and dh were on incapacity benefit (doesn't scan)
We wouldn't be eligible for any tax credits
would we?

not that I'm saying we should be - just trying to work out where all the fictional money for next year is going to come from

thanking yew

if you have children you should be entitled to the Child Tax credit part.

try here it will tell you what you are entitled too. Just remember that the amount at the end is for now-end march 2008

I've got a feeling you may get other help as your dh on incapacity benefit, for example help with childcare costs there must be a website somewhere that specifically tell you as a student what you can claim etc.

Isn't there one called "entitledto.co.uk or com????"

childcare costs should be fine as am doing an NHS course so can apply for quite a lot of help with childcare

also ds is increasingly getting free childcare. sorry, i mean school

If he is on Incapacity then I think he ca claim WTC until he goes on to long term Incapacity at which point you'd have to be working in order to get the WTC part.

Do you get carers allowance or DLA at all?

choosyfloosy · 21/05/2007 11:32

no he's not that incapacitated thank goodness

he may in fact not go onto incapacity benefit at all. he was on it for about 6 months last year and then off it again, but it was really touch and go the last month or so. we'll have to see.
