£50k to invest for 2-3 years. Where and how?

If you found yourself with this amount of money that you did not need to draw on for the next 2-3 years, and if you were prepared to shoulder a medium level of risk, what would you invest it in?

Thanks.

Completely non financially minded but for the thrill, I'd invest £50k in premium bonds!

... with a 95% chance of watching it shrink with inflation. Not a wise move!

So, what should I do with it? Anyone?! Grin

2-3 years is a bit short term for investing in the markets, though. Would you just put it in a savings account specialsubject? They are so low these days, I'd take my chances with PBs! Although I think 30k might be the max you can invest?

2-3years?

Nothing unless it's a guaranteed structured product, or cash based.

Mosaic123 · 01/06/2018 01:17

I'd put, say, £10k in shares, and the rest in the highest paying savings accounts that I could find.

Try funding circle...their returns are between 5 to 11% a year. That's better yield than most house rentals...

Hmmisthatit · 01/06/2018 06:57

Funding circle isn't a cash investment though and risks are higher.

having won £25 in decades of having premium bonds, yes I would use a savings account even though returns are well below inflation.
