We are supposed to be completing on our house on Monday, Our Solicitor has just rung chasing that the mortgage funds are going to be released today and they have just decided that our ID was certified incorrectly
AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhh
This happened to us last year and so we had to pull out on the day of completion as they wouldn't accept the ID we had. I don't want it to happen again

but its not your fault is it??????

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:06

No it's not our faul it's the stupid Mortgage company for not bringing it up earlier!
our Mortgage offer expires on Wednesday so we need to comlete by then or we'll be homeless

Whoever certified the documents should be shot as it really is not difficult to do. Someone has been at fault here regardless of the mortgage company not bringing it up until now. The documents should have been checked before they were sent.
The mortgage offer can usually be extended so I would not worry too much about that, again double check with the mortgage company.

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/05/2007 11:59

Thanks I think it was the broker who caused the problem! not our adivsor!
I have heard it is all sorted now so just waiting for the money to appear!

Who certified your documents? Assume your solicitor. If they've done it incorrectly (ie. negligently), they could be on the hook for any losses you suffer. I'd at least say in passing that it's their error in failing to certify your id properly and it's up to them to sort it out...

BigGitDad · 18/05/2007 12:09

I think your advisor is telling porkies, they should check the documentation before it is sent to the mortgage company.
Good luck anyway!
