Payday loan advice

Hi, I'll try to be brief.

When I was 18 and stupid I took out several payday loans to make ends meet when I had to leave home. I rented a flat, then had my hours cut at work, you get the picture. It's all been fully paid and six years later, I'm in much better circumstances.

I've recently read about people claiming back for payday loan costs such as interest. I seem to check a lot of the boxes, they were unaffordable, had multiple loans at the same time, took out loans to pay off loans. I was wondering if anyone here had done this and could advise on how to go about it? Am I better going through a third party or would it be easy to do myself?

Not that I even know if I would qualify!

Thanks in advance.

I've done this myself rather than using a 3rd party but it was for bank monthly fees I was charged without consenting to.
It was fairly painless. I had to have a phone appointment and said why I felt it was unfair.

Well done for digging yourself out of that hole BTW!

Thank you for the quick reply!

If it's relatively painless, I may look into doing it myself then. I'm not desperate for the money, I just figured if I get anything it can go into DS's savings pot. Then he can benefit a bit for my mistakes!

And thank you. It really wasn't easy. But it radically changed my view to money, saving and credit. So I guess that's a positive.

Don't go through a third party for anything like this. You should go to the moneysavingexpert website - there will be tons of threads about this. Some people on there can get a bit nasty - take no notice of them.

www.resolver.co.uk/companies/wonga-complaints#Pay+Day+Loans this link would work for Wonga but resolver lets you type in the company name on the home page

Debt camel - great website for what you need - 6 years might be an issue but still worth trying
