Safety net credit help.

Hello,

I stupidly got myself into a bit of a mess with safetynet credit. I owe them £746. I've just lost my job and as a result am really struggling. Is there any way of stopping them taking what they want each week and setting up a payment plan?! I feel very much like i'm drowning at the min. I've sent them a message but haven't heard back yet.

There's an email address and a number on they're site.
If your paying dd or standing order can Itteringham be cancelled and send them an email what your circumstances are.

they take it via a CPA - continuous payment authority which gives means they have access and can take what they want basically every week. they clear the account, leaving £50 in it then you have to go and re borrow from them. ie - if i have £140 go in, they will take £80 then i have to reborrow what i can which would be up to about £60 so i'm paying basic rate of about £80/90 a month which just goes on interest. the amount i owe never gets any less, as the interest rate is about 67%

Stupid, stupid situation to end up in but i was naive and desperate.

That means its coming off your card? Speak to your bank and ask them to cancel it they should be able to do this, if not cancel your card and order a new one. Then speak to the company and set up a payment plan to pay them back, don't borrow any more.

I've spoken to them and actually they have been brilliant. They are freezing all interest and payments for a month until I can get sorted then I need to let them know how much I can afford to repay and they will freeze interest.

I would still cancel the CPA as a matter of urgency.

Thought I'd update this in case it is of help to anyone else.

so...

I am actually very impressed with them. They were brilliant to deal with, gave me a month to get back to them with budget and my offer of how much I could pay and stopped all interest and payments. I have offered what i can afford and they agreed then gave me another month until my first payment. They gave me the choice without prompting of cancelling the CPA and have given me a payment schedule. I feel like i can breathe again!

If anyone is finding it difficult to have an arrangement like this then do speak to them. they couldn't have been nicer to deal with for me.
