I'm reluctant to take advice from an IFA as I know commission on life assurance is good so I'm concerned that the advice may not be as independent as I would like.
I'll try to be brief:
I had a very shit time from late 2011 - 2015.
To top it all off in the summer of 2015 I was badly assaulted.
Following the assault I struggled on, ending in emotional collapse in early 2016.
I tried to end my own life, then I received treatment.
Given the circumstances that led to it the breakdown was unsurprising.
I'm better now, I have been off of my medication and fine for over a year. I work full time.
I would like life insurance so I can leave my adult DCs something if I die.
In view of the suicide attempt I've been quoted £142 a month for a LTA policy.
Would Critical Term cover or something similar be cheaper and more suitable? I wouldn't mind leaving my DCs an amount over time, rather than a lump sum if I had a diagnosis of critical illness.
Thank you
