Hi

I live with parents and will claim in July.
I'm a single mum to be, so will it affect the claim by living with them?

Assuming that your parents will not be getting benefits for you your parents finances will not affect a tax credits claim. Have you checked that you can claim tax credits, or now have to claim universal credit? Although you say that you pay rent you would almost certainly not get housing benefit (or housing element of universal credit).

When you will be treated as not paying rent.

Tax credits comes under UC.

As MyDc says if you are in a full service area for universal credit you will not be able to make a new claim for tax credits. Here is a link to citizens advice website about the benefit and how it works. However if you already get tax credits you may not have to switch. I suggest you search for your local citizens advice office and maybe phone or go in.
