Inheritance Tax Question - changing a will to give money to charity

I’m asking on behalf of my PIL who are the beneficiaries of MIL’s aunt’s estate.

The aunt left quite a large amount of money and it will be subject to IHT. PIL are aware that donating 10% of the net value of the estate will reduce the IHT liability to 36%. The question is, can the 10% be shared between more than one charity?

I have tried loads of different google searches, but don’t seem to be coming up with any definite answers (obviously neither did FIL which is why he asked me).

Yes - I believe it can be split between multiple charities. See the words 'in total' in Sched 1, para 4 of the Inheritance Act 1984

Yes. My DPs have picked 10 charities.
