Are there any internet sites with costs of car repairs?

The local dealership is very convenient as they give me lifts home and pick me up when I take my car there, but I know the costs must be added in.
I was thinking it would be very helpful to have some idea of what a no frills garage would charge for various aspects of car repairs, which may help my budget. But I don't want to ring round local small businesses and ask them.

If it is to replace hardware like new brakes, tyres, clutch you look on a site that sells these. Then you add £80 per hour labour (unless you have a friend who can charge you mates rates). If it is an issue with software eg computer in a new car, then it's the same ,the repair plus the labour cost. A garage should also provide you with x amount of time for guarantee on the part that was repaired. You also have to factor in that the garage has all the correct tools to be able to repair your car.

What do you need repaired ?

So much variation around costs

Main stealers round here cost anything between 80 and 120 per hour.

We use a local garage and pay £35. They also do lifts and have courtesy cars.

I’d ask friends and ring round local independent garages.

I avoid kwik fit, ats etc. And the mains stealers. Never had an issue with warranty claims either.

It's the brakes Prison. Good idea to look at cost of parts.

My garage does not advertise heavily online
I've been using them for 20 years
I will carry on using them

the time I used the interweb to find a garage I found a place who were so crap that nobody ever went there twice

FWIW I do not advertise my business online - I use word of mouth ONLY

bear that in mind : cheap is often not best

Brakes discs and pads I was quoted £280, my partner did it for £80 (but he had the tools and the knowledge) Phone round for some quotes, including small local garage, should only take 1 hour maximum

Thanks all, and that's useful to know Wat3r
