Need to cut down weekly food cost, where to save?

I need to cut down on our ridiculous food shop cost. Problem is I can't go places like aldi or Lidl as I must have online food shopping as don't have the time for store shopping. I usually use Ocado or Tesco.

I want to know where I can save? Are supermarket own brand stuff ok? Things like laundry and cleaning products, tinned or canned products, etc?

Have a cheap night two or three times a week, soup, beans on toast or jackets. Go a bit more veggie. Use up leftovers in frittata or pizza toast.

Plan to buy less.

Have a use up the fridge night and a freezer lucky dip night.

Stop buying biscuits, crisps, chocolate, sweets, soft drinks, cake, snack products, highly processed food, alcohol and other stuff that aren't really meals. Lots of toiletries are basically unnecessary too- shower gel, liquid soap, bubble bath and so on. Household cleaning stuff is also easy to replace with diluted washing up liquid or flash equivalent and e cloths.

You'll be healthier and better off.

Old style money saving on money saving expert is good.

Only works if you eat or use any of the above obviously!

We've been brainwashed by the ad men that we need all sorts of things to be happy.

Shop in Asda
Do a few vegetarian / vegan meals per week
We used to buy fresh veg and then we realised it costs more and it goes to waste alot, so we now only get frozen veg.

I find Tesco really expensive. I have a delivery pass for Morrisons it's £7 per month but can have as many orders over £40 each month for that. I generally have my delivery at about 9am on a Saturday which would cost £6 then anyway so it's worth it. Morrison's own brand stuff is great even the beans although I buy Crosse and Blackwell because we prefer them. Wonky fruit and veg boxes are great value and never had a poor item they just don't look so pretty. Morrisons meat is always good, I tend to buy the offers and fit the meals around the offers though. Don't forget Iceland as well, free delivery on orders over £35 and I generally find a £5 off code online most weeks. Their eggs are cheap and their bakery bread and rolls are lovely. Their offers are always good as well particularly stuff like cereal, teabags, coffee, crisps. I tend to order what is cheaper from there and take it off the Morrisons order. I don't buy Iceland frozen goods but buy the brands I like cheaper instead. What I also like about Iceland is their customer service if you receive something you aren't happy with they bring you a replacement to the door.

K1whatever...I read this post with interest as I don't. Have time to shop in Aldi or Lidl. I have epilepsy ,so cannot drive, which means I would need to use 4 busses or get a taxi. The first option is not a good use of time or safe for me and the second options saves me zero pounds. I do the online shopping so my partner, who is a huge support and pulls his weight more than most, can have one less job to do.
