Tips on finding a good IFA

We are in the very fortunate position of just paid off our mortgage and need to now invest for our retirements.

Both DH and I work and have a few pensions between us but the projected forecast just isn't enough to retire early.

Now the mortgage is done we are hoping to contribute around £2000 per month into investments so we can retire in around 10 years time.

We have no investments at the moment and no real idea if our goal of retiring then is feasible so I presume we need to hire an IFA to help us.

Other than them being independent what else should I look for?

Is it best to find someone that specialises in retirement funds or a more general one?

Also how much roughly do they cost so I can avoid the real cheap (would be worried why they were cheap) or real expensive ones?
