How long do they have to respond once you send claim in?

Did you go all the way? Or did they offer after 2 weeks?

madamez · 09/05/2007 15:53

Have just had chat with nice lady at Natwest who tells me my claim is being "validated" and I will hear by June 7th at the absolute latest. Tried to coax her into telling me how much I'm going to get (claiming nearly £5k) but she wouldn't say, just that in general people are being made offers...

Lolly68 · 09/05/2007 15:57

That is still a long way off isnt it? 7 June. I am also claiming quite a bit of Natwest so its nice to see that they are dealing with the big claims. I want the whole lot back nothing less.

americantrish · 09/05/2007 16:08

well done!! i wonder if anyone here has had much luck with First Direct?

Have sent it recorded. Will keep you posted!

cathcart · 09/05/2007 22:42

feelingold - no probs, i sent mine to my actual branch but the rest of the communication was through h/o. Let us know how it goes!

Just phone the bank to ask where to send it - they said I dont need to, they can do it over the phone. She was really lovely, knew exactly what I wanted and why without me saying a word, and apologised for the fact they will be 'several' weeks arriving as they currently have a backlog of requests!!

Have you got good plans Cathcart for how you will use the money? Are you going to be sensible and pay off debts/save/invest or are you going to treat yourself/both? You should have a bit of it to splurge I reackon!

FeelingOldnGrey · 11/05/2007 07:53

I say just! I did it the other day after thread here!

mummyto2littleprincess · 13/05/2007 00:47

maybe someone can help and give me advice what to do
for some reason i overdraw my bank by £2.20
i now owe them over £400 and i have paid abit back
what shall i do

mummyto2littleprincess · 13/05/2007 18:50

bump

cathcart · 15/05/2007 20:48

just saw this mummy, why do you owe them £400 for just being £2 overdrawn? If it is because of the charges mounting up then speak to someone at your branch, if it is a one off then mayne they will overlook it. A lot of the time the charges are just made by the system so if you have been charged this much then you need to find out why. If you have no luck then put it in writing. See moneysavingexpert.com for proper advice - i'm no expert!
good luck.
