Solicitor going bankrupt

Just wondering if anyone knows what happens if a solicitor declares bankruptcy? DPs have their will held at a local solicitors and they have just read in the local paper about them going into liquidation. They are assuming a letter of some sorts will be sent out in due course, but obviously they're wondering what will happen now and whether they'll have to make a new will with a different firm.

The solicitors regulation authority comes in and removes all the files and then redistributes everything to other solicitors.

No need for a new will - it’s still there and valid.

Thanks chocolala I think dps are wondering how long it will take before they get a letter of some kind. Good job they weren't in the middle of moving house or something!

I'm wondering if they can collect their will before the firm shuts down ? Then they can find another place to keep it.
