Anyone has heard of those? My husband received a letter today from them, though the name of the person it is addressed to is slightly misspelled. The first name is correct, the second one not. Apparently they are claiming he owes over £500 to HPH2 LTD. (ex Welcome Finance Limited). Hmm
Neither of us has ever had any loans. We have credit cards, however my husband hasn't got any balance on any of his now. We are trying to buy at the moment so we don't need this stress.
His credit score was in the highest one a few months ago. Thanks for any help / advice.

Hi I've just googled them and they look very dodgy but I would have a look for yourself and get some advice from a debt charity. Are you sure you've never had a loan or credit card you didn't finish paying off?

abbsisspartacus · 16/03/2018 20:51

Yes unfortunately my ex husband was chased by them for his welcome finance loan

Have you checked your credit score?

froggybiby · 16/03/2018 21:10

I advised my husband to check middle report and there his score is "fair unfortunately it doesn't show much on there as he just registered. He tried calling (hiding his number) but they were closed. He never had any loans or credit (apart from cards).

Its most likely a 'fishing exercise' where they contact people with the same name or similar name in the hope of getting the right person, DO NOT PHONE THEM, if you do feel you need to contact them put it in writing

Have a look at this site they know Robinson Way very well

Robinson Way are a debt collection agency based in manchester. They tend to work by buying debts from companies who no longer wish to chase them(at a lower rate) in a hope they will be able to collect some or part of the balance (thus make a profit) I have dealt with them in a professional capacity only.

Welcome Finance cover quite a broad spectrum of finance as they've acquired a lot of other finance companies over the years. Mainly debts I saw with them were car finances, loans and store cards.

One thing your dh could do is check his credit report as any outstanding debt whether it has been passed to a debt collection agency or not will show on there. But as pp suggested it may be worth speaking to CAB or debt charity to see if they can offer advice on how to deal with this if it is not his debt. It could just be the case of mistaken identity.

Unfortunately I know Robinson Way as i'm in debt so I can say they're definitely a debt company.

I've found them surprisingly friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. They've never made me feel threatened and helped me work out a repayment I could actually afford. Much better then dealing with the credit card company - who were inflexible.

Oldsu I looked at that site but just saw a bunch of links. What do they say about them?

Oldsu · 17/03/2018 01:10

Toomanynamestaken this is one thread about them

You may have found them helpful but a lot of people haven't

Hi

did you do anything about this? I just seen it as I was googling registered office address of HPH2ltd who took on Robinson Way.

If you are still looking for help, I am in a debt group on facebook, where we can help you. I do not know if I am allowed to post a link to it but search for CA3 Debt Free Me on facebook.

We can help.
